The Gauteng Department of Community Safety's anti-Fraud and Corruption Unit has confiscated all the documentation in respect of driver's learners and licences issued during a period between January and April 2009 at the Meyerton Drivers Licence Testing Centre.
The documents were confiscated in order to subject them to forensic audit to be conducted as part of ongoing initiative to root out fraud and corruption at the Drivers Licence Testing Centres (DLTCs) across Gauteng.
This exercise should not be seen as an isolated case but will be rolled-out to other DLTCs in due course. The public is urged to report any fraudulent and corrupt activities linked to issuing of drivers learners and licences on our 24 hour toll-free line 0800 701 701.
