While it was imperative to discuss on economic issues relating to cotton consumption forecast, especially research and practices that will promote productivity, interest on cotton production and enhanced food security also occupied discussions with the committee deciding on looking into defining contributions of the cotton industry into food security.

The committee called for an overall strategy to small holders. DAFF has since recognised this role of small holders and have subsequently grouped the farmers accordingly.
Other areas covered include cotton by products and value addition as well as support for conclusion of the Doha Rounds.
While ICAC concluded the plenary session on a high note, it is the warmth and hospitality displayed by the DAFF that resonated loudly at the closure.
