The Minister of Defence and Military Veterans, Ms Lindiwe Sisulu, will create an opportunity for media to put questions to her about the involvement of members of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) in the recent Operation Festive Season crime-fighting initiative.
Minister Sisulu is currently engaged in the Cabinet Lekgotla in Bela Bela, Limpopo and is aware that media have enquired about the role of the SANDF alongside the police in crime-fighting.
The Minister regrets that she is unable to deal with these questions at this time, but says media would be welcome to ask her about this matter immediately after the Lekgotla, which ends on Friday, or during the series of media briefings that will follow on 9 February 2012, State of the Nation Address by the President.
