The 2013 supplementary examinations have now drawn to a close. 6 137 examination centres across the country opened their doors to 86 493 full time and 1 367 part time candidates from 17 February to 25 March 2014 who sat to better their NSC Examination scores.
The National Senior Certificate (NSC) Supplementary Examination is a special examination which provides learners a second opportunity to write the NSC examination, based on specific criteria. These criteria in the main refer to candidates incapable of writing the November examination because of medical issues or learners who did not meet the specific requirements for attaining the National Senior Certificate.
Marking of Supplementary Examination scripts has now concluded and learners will be able to collect their marks from their examination centre from 29 April 2014 to 6 May 2014.
The Department of Basic Education thanks all the staff involved in the successful administration of the supplementary examinations.
