The Commission for the Promotion and Protection of the Right of Cultural, Religious and Linguistic Communities would like to express its profound gratitude and congratulate the Inter ministerial committee led Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Acting Minister Nathi Mthethwa, and other departments such as Home Affairs, Police Services, Defence and Military Veterans, State Security, Presidency, the Municipal Demarcation Board, South African Local Government Association and the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) for successfully conducting the fourth local government election on 16 and 18 May 2011.
The Commission also takes this moment to thanks all its national and provincial Cultural, Religious and Language communities for exercising their political rights and participating in these historic fourth local government elections under the peaceful and tolerant environment.
Our special thanks goes to the professionalism and consideration our sister chapter nine institutions (IEC), its Chairperson and the CEO and all its staff members promoting and
protecting the use of languages in their voter education and the accommodation of disabilities the voting days.
