The message of Easter brings about the resurrection of hope. Passover marks the celebration of freedom. The CRL Rights Commission would like to wish all Christians and Jews well as they converge in various places of worship during the weekend.
It is at this time of the year when our diversity as a nation is strengthened by the spiritual rejuvenation that consumes two of our major faiths. During this period, Christians will celebrate Easter and Jews will mark the festival of Passover. As South Africans we can use this period of spiritual invigoration to reflect on how best we may contribute to the building the nation and ensuring social cohesion.
We urge South Africans to pray for the country so that there be peace, harmony, unity and prosperity. The CRL Rights Commission wishes that our prayers may bring about the end to poverty and suffering amongst the poor.
As we continue to pray for peace and friendship and visiting our beloved ones and travelling to our holiday destinations, let us continue to use our roads in a responsible manner. We wish you safe and happy Easter and Festival of the Passover holidays.
