The MEC for Sport, Arts and Culture in Limpopo, Mrs Joyce Mashamba in the strongest terms condemns the violence against foreign nationals and particularly those of African descent, in the Limpopo province. All forms of violence and acts of crime against citizens of and visitors to this province will not be tolerated.
South Africa has made significant strides in the building of truly homogenous, socially-cohesive, non-racial, non-sexist communities in our democratic dispensation. We therefore once again plead for tolerance and patience towards all citizens of and visitors to South Africa and Limpopo.
Let us refrain from making prejudicial and violent decisions based on culture or nationality. Our democracy was born from tolerance and can only be nurtured further with this same attitude. Let us remember the hands that carried us through the hard times in this country and helped us fight for freedom in our lifetime.
