Corruption greatest threat to service delivery - Premier Modise

North West Premier Mme Thandi Modise has identified corruption as one of the greatest threats to service delivery. In delivering the Policy Statement and Budget Speech for her Office in the Provincial legislature on Thursday, Premier Modise said that efforts to fight the scourge of corruption are to be intensified.

The Premier also committed that her department will ensure that the Provincial Anti-Corruption is functional. Modise’s department is to host a roundtable discussion and also launch the Ethics education in schools around the province in partnership with the Department of Education during this financial year.

“We do not want to continue to have department referring willy nilly matters to consultants and so called forensic investigators without consulting our own forensic management unit,” she asserted.

Anti-corruption awareness campaigns are to be rolled-out in all four districts of the province as part of harnessing awareness towards the International Anti-Corruption Day.
