Correctional Service on revoke of parole for 'Waterkloof two'

'Waterkloof two' parole revoked

The Kgosi Mampuru II Correctional Supervision and Parole Board (CSPB) today, 28 February 2014 revoked the parole of the so-called “Waterkloof Two". These two - Frikie du Preez and Christopher Becker, were re-arrest on 16 February 2014.

The CSPB met in Tshwane earlier today and decided that the “Waterkloof Two” will only be due for further consideration of placement on parole after serving an additional 12 months in detention. This confirms the zero tolerance stance of Government, and the Department of Correctional Services, towards ill-discipline among inmates, parolees and officials.

The investigation into the role of correctional officials in the case of the “Waterkloof Two” is almost complete. This noble profession of corrections has no place for criminals and ill-disciplined officials. The department will root out criminal behaviour amongst those who taint our standing, and reputation, in society.

We further call on every citizen who has evidence of fraud and corruption to use our anti-corruption hotline – 0800 701701 - to expose and help fight this scourge.
