The Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA) Richard Baloyi regrets the suspected murder of the municipal manager of Naledi Local Municipality under the Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati District Municipality in the North West Province.
A 48 year old Mr Thami Tukani’s body was found in the veld near Lady Brand in the Free State Province.
“We call upon the law enforcement agencies to leave nothing intact and no stone unturned in order to find out the truth around the death of Mr Tukani. His death is a great loss to the nascent municipal governance system that we are creating as we build responsive, effective and efficient municipalities,” Minister Baloyi said this morning.
We take this opportunity to express our heart-felt condolences to the Tukani family and friends. We wish that they will find solace and comfort in the fact that his contribution to the drive towards a better life for all has been made. He has run his race and has had winning innings.
He will be deeply missed.
