It is with deepest sympathy and regret that the Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Mr Masenyani Richard Baloyi announces the passing away of úKumkani Thandizulu Sigcau of the Amampondo ase Qaukeni, Eastern Cape.
King Sigcau passed on last night at the Nelson Mandela Hospital in Mthatha, after a sudden illness. Funeral arrangements are afoot and a date of burial will be announced as soon as it is set. The nation dips its banner of sympathy and condolences as we mourn together with the Amampondo Traditional Community.
We take this opportunity to thank him for the selfless service he has rendered to the country for over the last forty years as a reigning King of the Amampondo.
