President Jacob Zuma has written to the leaders of political parties represented in the National Assembly in terms of section 174(4) of the Constitution, to consult them on the filling of the vacancy in the Constitutional Court.
After due process, the Judicial Service Commission has submitted four candidates for the President's consideration, namely:
1) Honourable Judge Selby Alan Masibonge Baqwa,
2) Honourable Judge Lebotsang Orphan Bosielo,
3) Advocate Mbuyiseli Russel Madlanga, SC and
4) Honourable Judge Brian Solomon Spilg.
The President has requested the comments and views of the parties on the said candidates. Parties have been asked to submit their comments by the 11 March 2013.
