The Mpumalanga Department of Education has received with shock the news of the passing on of a learner who was shot by a fellow learner on Sunday, 30 October 2011 during a school camp.
This incident happened at Shammah College an Independent School in KaMhlushwa near Malelane.
The department has already dispatched its Psychological Officials to render debriefing and counselling services to all learners who are affected by this sad development.
At the same time, an investigation will be conducted by the department to understand the circumstances that led to the shooting.
The department takes this time to extend its profound condolences to the bereaved family, school and to all who are affected by this unfortunate development.
