The Deputy Chairperson of the National Council of Provinces, Ms Thandi Memela, has learnt with shock of the death of Ms Corlia Olivier.
Ms Olivier was the mother of the late Anene Booysens of Bredasdorp, who died last February at Tygerberg hospital after she was raped and disemboweled.
“My deepest condolences go out to the family. Words cannot begin to express the pain and sadness I feel deep inside my heart. I visited Ms Olivier at her home in Bredasdorp, following the brutal murder of her daughter,” said Ms Memela. She wished the family much-needed comfort and peace during this sad period.
Ms Olivier succumbed to death after a battle with cervical cancer.
