The Portfolio Committee on Communications, having considered candidates who submitted their CVs for appointment to serve on the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) Council in terms of the ICASA Act, No 13 of 2000 (as amended by the Broadcasting Amendment Act, No 64 of 2002) reports as follows:
A request from the Minister of Communications, Ms Dina Pule, to fill three vacancies on the ICASA Council was referred to the Portfolio Committee on Communications on 16 May 2012.
The Committee received 39 CVs and agreed to short-list the following 15 candidates:
