Committee saddened by the passing away of jazz legend

The Portfolio Committee on Arts and Culture is saddened by the sudden death of celebrated jazz musician, Mr Victor Ntoni.

“Death has once again robbed South African of one of its creative sons, a true visionary in the field of music. He leaves behind a legacy that will be remembered for centuries to come,” said Ms Thandile Sunduza, Chairperson of the Committee.

The Committee acknowledges the good work he has done in ensuring that he shares with others the gift given to him. The work he did of imparting musical skills to deprived black South Africans during apartheid distinguishes him as true South African concerned with the preservation of the cultural heritage of the country through music.

The Committee extends its heartfelt condolences to his family and may they find solace in the fact that his was a life well lived.
