Commission for Gender Equality on TV talk show on underlying GBVF factors and gender inequality issues

The Commission for Gender Equality (CGE) is concerned with the high level of Gender-Based Violence and Femicide as well as the persisting gender inequality in society. To amplify the impact of this scourge and seek solutions, the CGE has created Gender Space, a TV talk show where we highlight factors underlying GBVF and gender inequality issues broadly. 

We are pleased to announce that on Thursday 16 November 2023 the programme will be reaching its halfway mark of a total of 12 episodes.  

“Gender Space is a media initiative by the Commission to address and break down gender issues and encourage dialogue to find solutions”, said Advocate Sepanya-Mogale, Chairperson of the Commission for Gender Equality. The programme will continue to air on Dumisa TV, DSTV channel 340 at 18:00 every Thursday until 21 December. Episodes will be aired as per the following schedule:

16 Nov            Women’s Economic Empowerment barriers.
23 Nov            Systemic and structural challenges faced by women with Disabilities.
30 Nov            The role of men and boys in the fight against GBVF.
07 Dec            Protecting women and girls in Human Trafficking.
14 Dec            Systemic violence against widows.
21 Dec            Challenges Faced by the LGBTQIA Community.
