The Commission for Gender Equality (CGE) sends its heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and relatives of the late Mr. Vuyo Mbuli. Vuyo Mbuli, a revered journalist of his time will be sorely missed by those who had embraced him. Mr. Mbuli was indeed an inspiration to aspiring journalists and seasoned journalists alike.
Mr Mbuli’s canning ability to hold down various responsibilities created a multifaceted news anchor who was able to take a keen interest in a wide range of socio political issues, including that which are driven by the CGE’s mandate.
For a number of years, the CGE’s officials/commissioners sat aside Mr Mbuli on numerous interviews, eking out knowledge and information on gender based issues in an effort to educate the nation about the cause of the CGE and its programmes. We will certainly miss his input and interpretation on issues that the CGE debated through him as a presenter.
“On behalf of the CGE I would like to send our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Vuyo Mbuli. Whilst we mourn the death Vuyo Mbuli, we also look upon the SABC as well as the media fraternity at large to continue breeding journalists of his caliber especially at time when organisations such as the CGE seek to communicate discourse that is sieved through journalists who are dedicated and proficient in their craft,” said the Chairperson Mr Mfanozelwe Shozi.
