The contention that the Limpopo provincial government is performing badly on expenditure in capital assets is misleading. Limpopo has been at similar levels as other provinces that are spending well. The statistics indicate that Limpopo had spent 54.7% by the end of December 2010, which is a triple improvement compared to the previous quarters. Based on the third quarter, the average capital expenditure (for all provinces) was at 55%.
We must also emphasise that clearly, as we approach the middle of the fourth quarter, the expenditure has increase d substantially. Therefore, the capital expenditure for the provincial budget of Limpopo for the 2010/11 financial year remains on course.
