The Portfolio Committee on Rural Development and Land Reform will hold public hearings on Spatial Planning and Land Use Management Bill from 21 to 22 August 2012.
Spatial Planning and Land Use Management Bill came about as a result of the Green Paper of 1999 and White Paper of 2001 processes to replace the Development Facilitation Act as a legislative instrument to regulate spatial planning and land use management in South Africa
The Bill seeks to, among other things, provide a framework for spatial planning and land use management in the Republic of South Africa and to provide for the inclusive, developmental, equitable and efficient spatial planning at the different spheres of government
The committee invites written comments from interested people and stakeholders.
