Call for applications to network facilitators

The Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) calls on all eligible applicants to apply for the department’s endorsed structured network facilitator training programme. The training will enable them to use a diagnostic tool for the identification of interventions that will contribute towards the competitiveness of enterprises.

This call for applications is a continuation of a similar intervention following the launch of the revised Black Business Supplier Development Programme (BBSDP) by Minister Rob Davies in July 2010. Participants who will take part in this endorsed training programme will become accredited facilitators for the Black Business Supplier Development Programme (BBSDP).

Applications opened on 15 July and the closing date will be 31 September 2011. Successful applicants will be required to incur the cost of the training. The selection criteria for the Network Facilitators will take into account previous experience as BBSDP Network Facilitators; the successful performance of applications previously submitted and/or experience in small, medium and micro enterprises (SMME) consulting.

The training will cover modules which include the use of a company diagnostic tool, business writing skills, ethics in consulting, basic understanding of company accounts, client and assignment management as well as training on the revised BBSDP guidelines.

Applications received from the Northern Cape, Free State, Eastern Cape, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, North West and KwaZulu Natal will be given favourable preference in a drive to broaden participation from all provinces.

Applications should be submitted using the Network Facilitators’ application form obtainable from the dti website (http://www.thedti.gov.za) or be collected from the dti Campus, Block A Reception Desk. The completed and signed form should be accompanied by recently updated supporting documentation.

Applicants who do not comply with the requirements as stated in the Network Facilitators’ guidelines on the dti website as well as late, faxed or e-mailed applications will not be considered. Correspondence will be limited to short listed companies and or applicants only and selected applicants will be subjected to a personnel suitability check (qualifications verification, company validity and criminal record). If applicants have not been contacted within three months after the closing date of applications, they should deem their applications to have been unsuccessful.
