Budget votes of government ministries and departments are scheduled to take place from today, Tuesday, 23 March 2010 to 12 May 2010.
The venues for these budget votes are either the old assembly chamber in the old assembly building at Parliament or E249 in the National Assembly chamber building. The exceptions are the budget votes of the Presidency and the budget vote of Parliament, both of which take place in the National Assembly chamber.
All of these budget votes are formal sittings of the National Assembly and the same rules about filming and photographing applicable to sittings of the house apply to them. These rules are:
* No filming is allowed by outside videographers. Film footage (live feeds) may be obtained from Parliament’s Sound and Vision unit
* Permission must be sought to photograph proceedings (please apply to the Parliamentary Communication Services Media Management unit). Please apply at least one day ahead of the sitting which you wish to photograph
* Photographers granted permission to take photographs of proceedings may not use a flash or tripod
* Photographers granted permission must follow instructions from Parliamentary officials
* Photographers must wear a bib for the duration of their stay
* Photographers seeking permission to photograph proceedings must have been commissioned to do so by a media organisation.
