Budget Vote debates: Filming and photographing procedures

Budget vote debates of government departments, Parliament and the Presidency are scheduled to take place from Tuesday, 24 April 2012.

All these budget vote debates are formal sittings of Parliament and the same rules about filming and photographing applicable to sittings apply to them.

These rules are:

1. No filming is allowed by outside videographers. Film footage (live feeds) may be obtained from Parliament's sound and vision unit.

2. Permission must be sought to photograph proceedings (please apply to the Parliamentary communication services media management unit). Please apply at least one day ahead of the sitting which you wish to photograph.

3. Photographers granted permission to take photographs of proceedings may not use a flash or tripod.

4. Photographers granted permission to photographs must follow instructions from Parliamentary officials.

5. Photographers must wear a bib for the duration of their stay.

6. Photographers seeking permission to photograph proceedings must have been commissioned to do so by a media organisation.
