Bringing Cricket World Cup to the villages

Rural communities can now brace themselves to a magnificent Cricket World Cup. The Department of Rural Development and Land Reform is again bringing the sizzling hype to the rural communities. The department is reigniting the FIFA Soccer World Cup Village Viewing Areas (VVAs) hype at all viewing sites by beaming the 2011 Cricket World Cup to the rural people. The Cricket World Cup is starting on the 19 February and ending on 2 April 2011 in Mumbai, India.

As the department did during the 2010 Soccer World Cup it has organised people in rural areas to use the Village Viewing Areas (VVAs) to watch the cricket on big screens. DSTV, big screens and other relevant equipment were installed in the VVAs during the soccer world cup. The department envisages the same hype for cricket. Magnificent Cricket Friday has already created an exciting atmosphere across the country.
