North West MEC for Human Settlements, Public Safety & Liaison, Ms Desbo Mohono has welcomed the partnership with Bakwena Platinum Stars as Friends of the Decade of Action for Road Safety.
The Rustenburg based professional soccer league team joined road safety officers from the provincial department in conducting interactive road safety education and distributing road safety promotion material along the Sun City-Ledig road on Wednesday.
The team that includes convicted speedster Thuso Phala will also participate in interactive road safety education programme targeting road users and distribute complimentary tickets at the Village Mall near Sun City, Mogwase Shopping Complex and Moruleng Taxi Rank on Friday prior the PSL league match to be played against Moroka Swallows at Moruleng Stadium on Saturday.
At halftime captains of both teams will read the pledge supporting the United Nations Decade of Action for Road Safety Campaign aimed at stabilising and then reducing global deaths by 2020.
