Bad weather forces the postponement of the Parliamentary Constituency Information Day in Berlin, Buffalo City

The planned Constituency Information Day event that was to be hosted by Deputy Minister of Tourism Tokozile Xasa for the community of Berlin in the Buffalo Metropolitan Municipality this Friday, 2 December has been postponed until further notice due to the drastic change in weather conditions in the area of Berlin.

The bad weather conditions which were accompanied by heavy rains in the Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality has made roads in some parts of the municipality, especially Berlin which has gravel roads, difficult to navigate.

The venue for the Information Day activities is an open field next to the Ekuphumleni High School in Ward 40, Bongweni Location, where tents were to be erected to accommodate participating government departments and other community-based organisations.

The Management Committee of the Constituency Office, in consultation with other stakeholders, decided to postpone the event after inspecting the venue and going on a fruitless search for an alternative place to accommodate the event.

Deputy Minister Xasa regrets the postponement caused by the weather conditions which “we could not do anything about”. The day will still go ahead as (was) planned on the date to be announced said Deputy Minister Xasa.
