Arts and Culture on media accreditation for Africa Day celebrations

President Jacob Zuma will lead the inaugural Africa Day celebrations on Sunday, 24 May 2015. The Africa Day celebration will be held at the University of Pretoria, Mamelodi campus starting at 9h00.

The theme for this year’s celebration is “Building a Better Africa and a Better World”. Africa Day is celebrated annually within the African continent to mark the formation of the Organisation of African Unity (OAU) on 25 May 1963 and the African Union in 2002 and the progress made by the continent since then to advance democracy, peace, stability and socio-economic development.

The celebrations are open to the public and various stakeholders are urged to attend event in honour of the continent.
