The South African Reserve Bank has appointed Mr Pradeep Maharaj to the newly-created position of Chief Operating Officer, with effect from 1 November 2012. The Chief Operating Officer will be responsible for the support services cluster of the South African Reserve Bank.
Mr Maharaj has been Head of Human Resources and Transformation of Absa Capital since November 2011. Prior to joining Absa Capital he was the Group Executive: Human Resources and Strategy at Transnet, and previously held various positions in the Gauteng Provincial Government Department of Finance and Economic Affairs. He holds a Bachelor of Accounting Science from Unisa and a Senior Executive Programme certificate from Harvard and Wits Business Schools.
The Bank welcomes Mr Maharaj and takes this opportunity to wish him well as he takes up his new challenges and responsibilities.
