Another N12 accident victim dies

One more person from the yesterday’s accident on the N12 has died in Hospital, bringing the death toll to 14. North West MEC for Human Settlements, Public Safety and Liaison, Nono Maloyi has sends his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families of the victims who died in a car accident last night on the N12 at Dominionville in Klerksdorp.

Traffic Authorities suspect negligence as it is reported that the driver of a toyota quantum traveling from Klerksdorp to Wolmaranstad was trying to overtake four cars at the same time. The quantum then collided with a mini bus taxi and both drivers died on the spot.

MEC Maloyi humbly requested motorists to exercise patience and comply with the road laws. “Overtaking on an unsafe area is regarded as negligent driving and these leads to accidents. Losing fourteen at once is too much and we are not going to allow that, we will continue to clampdown on reckless drivers,” said Maloyi.

He further advised motorists to keep their lights on and to be more cautious, particularly on rainy conditions.
