Former AWB Secretary General, Andre Visagie appeared in Kimberly Magstrate's court today after being arrested by police yesterday afternoon on charges of unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.
During a raid conducted by the police at his house yesterday, police recovered several self made shot gun pipe rifles and a nine millimetre pistol as well as a number of ammunition. laptops and cellular phones were recovered.
He was granted R10 000 bail and his case was postponed to 20 May 2011 for further investigations.
The arrest follows an intensive investigation of Mr Visagie and more possible arrests and additional charges cannot be ruled out as the investigation is still underway.
