The Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Ms Tina Joemat-Pettersson has today awarded the 30-year Long Service Awards to 182 staff members at a special ceremony held in Pretoria.
The Minister said that she was proud of these officials for their commitment and loyalty to the Public Service. “You are the salt of the earth and that of agriculture, I am proud and humbled to be associated with the men and women of such stature. I am the Minister because of what you do in realising the importance of rendering services to our people.”
The event was successful and the men and women were honoured to have the privilege to find themselves sharing a lunch table with the Minister.
In her concluding remarks, the Minister indicated that the Long Service Awards ceremony in the department would now be an annual event whereby even those who shall have served the government for twenty years, would be included in the celebration.
