Africa investor CEO Infrastructure Investment Summit awards

The Department of Energy has won two awards for the Renewable Energy Independent Power Programme during the Africa Investor (Ai) CEO Infrastructure Investment Summit held on Wednesday, 7 May 2013 in  Cape Town - one for the “Infrastructure Regulator of the Year” and another for “Power Deal of the year”. The awards were received on behalf of the Minister of Energy, Ms Dipuo Peters by Dr Wolsey Barnard, Deputy Director-General (DDG) for Energy Programmes and Projects at the DoE.  

Africa investor (Ai), a leading international investment and communications group, yesterday successfully closed the Africa investor (Ai) CEO Infrastructure Investment Summit and Awards in Cape Town, South Africa, which gathered over 200 infrastructure investment leaders. The Summit’s theme was mobilising domestic capital and skills for infrastructure investments in Africa.

The Africa investor Awards are unique Pan-African business and capital market investment awards that recognise and reward the achievements of the private sector across wide-ranging sectors and disciplines. These awards attract market leaders from across the continent and salute their achievements. The efforts and work of institutional investors, governments and NGOs are also celebrated.

Alongside each annual Africa investor Infrastructure Investment Summit, Ai hosts a set of awards that recognise the achievements of Infrastructure Investors, Developers and Regulators in Africa in the following categories:

In addition to profiling infrastructure investment success stories the awards emphasise corporate responsibility towards social development and good corporate citizenship.
