Acting Crime Intelligence Head has the necessary security clearance

Today's article in The Star, (Phiyega goofs again with intelligence chief) has reference. The Star got it horribly wrong and failed to obtain comment from South African Police Service (SAPS) on the information provided by its sources.

Despite confirmation provided that the new Acting Divisional Commissioner for Crime Intelligence, Dr Bongiwe Zulu, had the necessary top security clearance to perform her duties, the newspaper decided to publish the article. The article is inaccurate in its entirety.

The Star, along with the Institute for Security Studies and the DA's Dianne Kohler-Barnard, has fallen for trickery by those with their own agendas, who are now clutching at straws to discredit the National Commissioner, General Riah Phiyega.
