The Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) has pledged guarantees towards the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2013 which include controlling the sale, supply and distribution of liquor.
Section 42(2)(b)ii of the Liquor Act 59 of 2003, empowers the Minister in consultation with the Council to make any other regulations necessary or expedient to prescribe in order to achieve the objectives of the Liquor Act.
The Minister of Trade and Industry kindly invites the public and other interested stakeholders to participate in the consultation process of the AFCON 2013 Liquor Regulations.
The closing date for comments is 17 December 2012.
