The Department of Basic Education is pleased to announce the successful start of the 2011 National Senior Certificate examination today, Monday 17 October 2011.
More than 45 000 learners began their practical examination in Information Technology at various centres around the country this morning. “Except for incidents of power outages at examination centres in the Northern Cape and KwaZulu Natal, things are going well so far”, said Deputy Minister Enver Surty.
The department is also gearing up to publish final examination results in all accredited newspapers, as has been the tradition over many years. The results will be officially released by Minister Angie Motshekga on 4 January 2012, and will be available in all major newspapers the following day including on mobile sites.
The Minister has wished the Class of 2011 well.
