“Batho Primary School receives a new multipurpose Court”

The Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, in partnership with Pareto Limited (owners of Mimosa Mall) and the Sports Trust will hand over a Multipurpose Sport Court to Batho Primary School in Bloemfontein on 1 June 2012.

Pareto Limited donated R900 000 to construct this state of the art facility made up of interlocking tiles that provide lateral forgiveness and minimal contact on the joints of the players. This state of the Art facility has twenty (20) years life span and fifteen (15) years warranty and was audited as a “zero waste” as well as an environmentally friendly facility. Sporting codes to be played include 5 a-side Soccer, Netball, Volleyball, Tennis and Basketball. The Court can also be utilised for training of educators and community as local coaches and administrators.

Batho Primary School forms part of the schools which were identified by the Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation for continuous support and provision of equipment and attire. The school is part of the school sport mass participation activities.

The Multipurpose Sport Court will be officially handed over by the Minister of Sport and Recreation, Mr Fikile Mbalula, MEC for Free State Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, Mr Dan Kgothule, Chief Executive Officer of Pareto Limited, Mr Marius Muller and Sports Trust Project Manager, Mr Max Jordaan.

The Sport Court forms part of a total of ten (10) such facilities that have been built across the Free State within communities and schools.

The media and members of the public are invited to be part of this Handover Ceremony to be held at Batho Primary School on the 1 June 2012 13h30 – 14h00.
