‘No such thing as the Administrative Adjudication of Road Traffic Offences (AARTO) being implemented country wide since last night’

The Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) would like to dismiss the false claim that is currently maintained in some e-mails taking rounds that the Administrative Adjudication of Road Traffic Offences is now running countrywide since last night.

This has caused an unnecessary panic to the members of the public and is utterly untrue. Telephone calls have been received from the public enquiring about the countrywide roll out which apparently started last night according to these false claims and the RTMC would like to dismiss all such claims.

The rolling out of AARTO countrywide will indeed happen and the plans are at an advanced stage gearing for the national roll out. The exact day and hour of the national roll out will be confirmed and made public in due course. We call upon all members of the public to only entertain announcements made by the Department of Transport and the RTMC in this matter as these are the only centres with a legitimate and official voice on the facts surrounding AARTO and its implementation details.

In the same light, information on how the AARTO system works and the allocation of points will be supplied by these centres as the legitimate source of information. Therefore, the public should refrain from absorbing any floating information on AARTO as facts unless articulated by the Department or the RTMC as the source.
