Premier to give update on Western Cape Government & Disaster Management stakeholders flooding response
The media are invited to join Western Cape Premier, Alan Winde, and Provincial Local Government, Environmental Affairs and Development Planning Minister Anton Bredell
tomorrow morning at the Provincial Disaster Management Centre where they will provide an update on the coordinated response to the recent flooding seen in some parts of the province.
The past week saw a large-scale disaster management operation, which included numerous government departments, municipalities, and civil society organisations.
The initial focus was to mitigate the impact of the disaster, save lives, and the provision of humanitarian aid. The next phase will involve assessing the damages and rebuilding affected infrastructure.
Premier Winde will be joined by Provincial Local Government, Environmental Affairs and Development Planning Minister Anton Bredell
