The Minister of Transport, Ms. Sindisiwe Chikunga will officially announce the extension of the Taxi Relief Fund (TRF) programme on Thursday, 14 March 2024.
The taxi industry and owners have been granted another opportunity to receive their Covid-19 Taxi Relief Fund (TRF).
The Fund was introduced in 2022 in order to provide relief for the taxi industry from the impact imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic on the taxi owners.
Minister Chikunga will be joined during the event by the leadership and operators from the South African National Taxi Council (SANTACO) and the National Taxi Alliance (NTA) as well as other key transport stakeholders.
Members of the media are invited to the event, where Minister Chikunga will announce and outline the scope of the extended TRF programme.
