Youth seminar on the role of forests in climate change mitigation and adaptation

The Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF) will be hosting a seminar on the role of forests in climate change mitigation and adaptation on 29 June 2012 followed by a Sheya Kulati Memorial Lecture on 30 June 2012, as part of the department's contribution in honouring the 36th anniversary of June 16.

The theme of the seminar is: "Youth activism in climate change mitigation and adaptation through sustainable forest management".

The keynote address will be given by the Chairperson of the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries' Portfolio Committee, Mr Mlungisi Lulu Johnson. The Chairperson for the seminar will be the Executive Deputy Chair of the National Youth Development Agency, Mr Ayanda Matiti.
