Minister for Women, Children and People with Disabilities, Ms Lulu Xingwana, Premier of KwaZulu-Natal Dr Zweli Mkhize and international leaders of disabled people are going address official opening of the 8th World Assembly of Disabled People’s International at the Durban ICC on Monday, 10 October.
Delegates to the World Assembly represent more than 500 million people in the world who are disabled as a consequence of mental, physical or sensory impairment. Often their lives are handicapped by physical and social barriers in society which hamper their full participation. Because of this, millions of children and adults in all parts of the world often face a life that is segregated and debased.
