Wonderboom National Airport

Transport Minister Sibusiso Ndebele will be joined by Gauteng MEC for Roads and Transport, Mr Bheki Nkosi, and the Executive Mayor of Tshwane, Dr Gwen Ramokgopa, to celebrate the inaugural departure of scheduled flights from the Wonderboom National Airport in Tshwane. The Minister together with other transport stakeholders will also inspect the significant improvements and renovations at the airport.

The City of Tshwane embarked on a process to further renovate and upgrade the Wonderboom Airport in preparation for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The upgrade at the airport will create employment for the local communities and encourage travellers to visit Tshwane more regularly. The project will also contribute towards integrated public transport, especially for 2010 and beyond.
