Parliament will next week host Women’s Parliament under the theme 'Mainstreaming the gender equality in all sectors of the South African society'.
Women from a broad spectrum of South African society will meet together with Members of Parliament, Ministers and Members of Commonwealth Parliamentary Association-Africa Region to discuss the following topics:
- Traditional Courts Bill and its implications for Women
- Total participation and involvement of Women in the Mainstream Economy
- The proposed Women Empowerment and Gender Equality Draft Bill and its Implications
Former Deputy President of South Africa and former Speaker of National Assembly Ms Baleka Mbete will deliver the keynote address and presenters on the topics listed include, Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Mr Jeff Radebe, Minister of Economic Development Mr Ebrahim Patel and Minister of Women, Children and People with Disability, Ms Lulu Xingwana.
