On Wednesday, Provincial Education Minister Donald Grant will be going to the following two schools for media events on the first day of term:
1. Ekuthuleni Primary
The first event is at Ekuthuleni Primary in Bloekombos. Minister Grant will be visiting the school to meet their new intake of Grade 1 learners, as well as, hand deliver 428 individual backpacks to learners in Grades 1-3 at the school.
Each school bag contains writing books, pencils, crayons, rulers, etc, and for Grade 3s, dictionaries are part of a Western Cape Education Department project to assist Foundation Phase learners at all of our poorer 301 Quintile 1 schools.
The cost of the project is R3.2 million.

2. Fisantekraal HS
Tomorrow, 11 new schools open in the Western Cape. One of the schools is Fisantekraal HS. The Minister will be visiting the school to examine the new school, as well as to determine the success of enrolments at the school.
