The Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) will assess the state of Zeekoegat and Rooiwal Wastewater Treatment Works in the City of Tshwane on Friday, 08 October 2021.
This is part of the ongoing work undertaken by the Department in its Green Drop Certification Programme aimed at evaluating the state of Wastewater Treatment Works across the country.
A total of 963 wastewater systems are evaluated in order to improve wastewater quality management and propel municipalities to enhance their maintenance and management of wastewater infrastructure.
Through the Green Drop Certification Programme, the Department, as a regulator of the water sector, aims to tighten its grip on municipalities.
