Deputy Water and Environmental Affairs Minister, Ms Rejoice Mabudafhasi will, on Wednesday, 23 March 2011, commemorate the World Meteorological Day at the CSIR in Pretoria.
This year’s theme is ““Understanding climate through weather”
The World Meteorological Day aims to acknowledge the work of scientists all over the world, to provide accurate weather forecasting and climate information and raise awareness about the dangers of severe weather such as lightning, floods and others.
South Africa has recently experienced increased lightning activity which led to loss of lives.
