At the invitation of His Excellency President Jacob Zuma, His Excellency, Prime Minister Mark Rutte of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, will visit South Africa on an Official Visit from 17-18 November 2015. The Prime Minister will be accompanied by the Minister of Agriculture, Mr Martijn van Dam, and a high-level business delegation.
South Africa and the Netherlands have a strong historical and cordial relationship. Dutch activists and later the Dutch government played a critical part in the anti-apartheid struggle. Since 1994, South Africa and the Netherlands have forged a solid partnership that transcends many fields including economic, trade, science and technology, education, judicial, multilateral as well as arts and culture.
South Africa and the Netherlands enjoy very strong and growing trade and investment relations. Total trade in 2014 amounted to R48.34 billion.
During their official talks, Presidents Zuma and Prime Minister Rutte will review a wide range of bilateral, regional and international issues.
