President Jacob Zuma undertakes working visit to Botswana, 20 Nov

The President of the Republic of South Africa, His Excellency Jacob Zuma, is scheduled to undertake a Working Visit to the Republic of Botswana on Thursday, 20 November 2014.

The two delegations are expected to take advantage of the Second Session of the South Africa-Botswana Bi-National Commission (BNC) to review the state of cooperation between South Africa and Botswana. South Africa hosted the inaugural session of the BNC in November 2013. It is expected that the two neighbouring countries will commit to the strengthening of bilateral relations and multilateral cooperation.

South Africa and Botswana cooperate on a wide range of areas, including transport, trade and investment, health, education, environmental affairs, water, science and technology, agriculture, justice, immigration, energy, finance, culture, security, and sport, amongst others.

President Zuma will be accompanied by Ms Maite Nkoana-Mashabane, Minister of International Relations and Cooperation; Ms Tina Joemat-Pettersson, Minister of Energy; Dr. Rob Davies, Minister of Trade and Industry; Ms Nomvula Mokonyane, Minister of Water and Sanitation; Ms Dipuo Peters, Minister of Transport; Ms Naledi Pador, Minister of Science and Technology; Mr Senzeni Zokwana, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and Ms Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula, Minister of Defence and Military Veterans.
