Minister for the Public Service and Administration, Ms Faith Muthambi, will accompany President Jacob Zuma to the 30th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, scheduled on 28 and 29 January 2018.
The Assembly is preceded by meetings of the Permanent Representatives Committee on 22 and 23 January as well as of the Executive Council on 25 to 26 January.
The Minister will attend the Focal Point meeting on the 26 January 2018 and on the 27 January 2018, she will attend the Summit of the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM).
The Minister will attend in her capacity as South Africa’s National Focal Point on APRM, represents Southern African Development Community (SADC) in the APRM Steering Committee. Equally, the Minister is the custodian of good governance in the Public Service. In this role she is responsible for setting norms and standards aimed at promoting of professionalism in the public service. This includes norms and standards regarding the preventing and combating corruption in the Public Service.
