Deputy Minister of Communications and Digital Technologies, Hon. Philly Mapulane leading a delegation to ITUGSR23 in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt

The Deputy Minister of Communications and Digital Technologies, Mr Philly Mapulane, is leading the ICT industry delegation in the International Telecommunication Union Global Symposium for Regulators 2023 (ITUGSR 2023) in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt from 06-08 June 2023.

Since its inception in 2000, the Global Symposium for Regulators (GSR) brings together heads of national telecommunications and ICT regulatory bodies, policy makers and other stakeholders in the digital environment from around the globe to share ideas and pave the way forward on identified challenges.

The 2023 edition of the ITUGSR is held under the theme “Regulations for a sustainable digital future.” It will feature thematic sessions aimed at strengthening efforts to bring about equilibrium in society through bridging the existing digital gap, sharing experiences, and contributing towards building the digital economy we envisage. 

The development of a dynamic and connected information society is key in building a vibrant knowledge economy that is inclusive and prosperous.

The deputy minister will participate in various activities while at the ITUGSR as follows:
